What we do
There are many factors involved in creating a solid
foundation for IT. Here they are, in no specific order (not all
of these factors will apply to your business):
- PC workstations that are properly configured with
enough memory, proper video, and peripherals, and appropriate operating
system
- File servers with sufficient computing resources
(processor, memory, and storage),
- Servers that provide the correct functions (user
authentication, DHCP, DNS, remote access, print services)
- Application servers that are configured correctly and
have programs that are tuned to the manufacturer's specifications,
- Network devices - switches, reliable cabling, and routers that
pass the data traffic without errors and congestion,
- Security devices and software, such as firewalls to
prevent attacks and intrusion from the Internet, and anti-virus software to
prevent software attacks downloaded from the Internet,
- Data protection in the form of regular data backup
and system imaging, and periodically scheduled data restoral testing,
- Electronic mail stability, with filtering for
unsolicited commercial email (known as spam)
- Website hosting in a very reliable environment.
- Training, both basic and intermediate, for using the
resources available on the network and the applications on the PCs
- Network and PC peripherals that are appropriate for
the business, so having high-duty cycle laser printers and low-volume color
inkjet printers or high-quality color laser printers and scanning devices
for paperless environments,
- Electronic FAX management to reduce paper and prevent
lost correspondence,
- Disaster recovery processes, in the case of a
catastrophic failure, fire, earthquake, building collapse, or equipment
theft.
- Timely support for those occasions where immediate
technical support is needed,
- Regularly scheduled maintenance and repair when the
monitored systems reflect that need.
